looking forward

While I usually keep my cards close to my chest, this year feels like a good time to make some goals and dreams more public.

2023 was the hardest year of my life so far (which is honestly saying a lot). I lost a lot of work and went through some personal trials that left me exhausted and burned out, and I’m going into this year with a lot of uncertainty and not a lot of safety net left. I am viewing this as an opportunity to lean into my main character syndrome and launch myself out of the funk I’ve been stuck in for months, rather than doubling down on the old strategies that didn’t work.

I’ve got a few categories of goals because I’ve got my hand in a few cookie jars at once, but everything feels like it’s authentic to who I want to be this year AND doable without burning myself out further.

Patreon

  • Double the size of my Patreon

    • I would love for my Patreon to be able to support more of my financial needs as well as reach more people who would benefit from the content I post there; Doubling the current size sounds intense but I have gotten close before and think that I can get there again!

  • Plan entire year of Patreon in January

    • So much of my content is reactionary, I want more of it to be intentional and pre-scheduled. Right now I’ve got the first two months outlined, but I want to at least name the programs I’ll run the rest of the year.

Content

  • More regular posting schedule

    • I’m such a whimsical poster right now, where I’ll do a lot for a few days and then disappear for a while. I’d like to be more consistent even when I’m not getting the results I want.

  • Add blog posts to content schedule

    • Like this! I’m hoping to add this as part of my overall content creation because I do write a lot more than is suitable for Patreon, and feel like I would benefit from a place to put it.

  • Work with more indie companies and small artists

    • This year I’m going to be a bit more choosy about who I work with, but I’d love to host more content for small businesses.

Lupine Honey

  • Monthly/quarterly merch collaborations

    • I’m shooting for monthly right now but if I need to reduce to quarterly, that’s also totally fine. I’m looking for content creators and artists who either don’t want the responsibility of a full store or who want to collaborate just for the fun of it. I’ll either allow them to design things or do the designs for them, and continue my current arrangement of the majority of the profits as well as a commission on anything else that gets bought through their links. (If you’re someone who is interested in this, feel free to drop me a line directly or through this form!)

Personal

  • Write more

    • I’ve got a few projects I’m working on right now that I’m not ready to talk about publicly, but that I’d really like to put some creative energy into. I’d also like to work with people on game design if it comes up.

  • Play in an AP

    • After playing in TTRPG home games online for about a year, I would love to try doing something for a streamed game. I’m not the biggest D&D fan so I’d be super interested in participating in a different game system.

I am always looking for connections and network opportunities, so if there’s anything here that you think you’d be able to help with I’d love to hear it! Here’s to a kinder and gentler 2024.
